It might not be Thursday, but we love a little throwback every now and then. On Saturday evening, Rihanna joined ex-Beatle Paul McCartney on stage to perform ““FourFiveSeconds” during his second Desert Trip performance. ICYMI: Desert Trip which took place over the last two weekends, was a festival celebrating the music of 6 classic rock legends: Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Paul McCartney (The Beatles), Roger Waters (Pink Floyd), and The Who. Based on the line-up, it’s clear Rihanna‘s appearance was totally unexpected. While she may experiment with her sound and her image, she’s not really someone who comes to mind when you think of those artists mentioned above. However, her hit single “FourFiveSeconds” with Kanye West and Paul McCartney is enough to make the cut!
The 2015 track “FourFiveSeconds” marked a pivotal moment in Rih Rih’s career. The duet at Desert Trip marked the first time the singers had performed the track together since the 2015 Grammy Awards. As Rihanna left the stage, Paul joked “We finally found someone under the age of 50”. It was certainly a nice treat for some of the younger folks (or older folks with modern taste!) at the festival.
