He’s Not Hot, But He Is – Meet: Big Shaq

All the facts you need about Big Shaq.

He’s an English rapper, actor, comedian and social media personality known by his alter-ego, Big Shaq. Beginning his career online, Big Shaq gained a mass following of fans for his brief (but hilarious) comedic skits. His YouTube channel is full of these skits, but also his mockumentary series titled SWIL (Somewhere In London).

The series alone built an audience with over 1 million views in its first round. It makes sense, he’s hilarious. Here’s a little sample:

But that’s not all. As of recent, Big Shaq’s song “Man’s Not Hot” is well, very hot. After aappearing on Charlie Sloth’s BBC Radio 1Xtra show, Fire In The Booth, he debuted a freestyle rap that went viral.

His first single “Mans Not Hot”, spun the internet into a frenzy. The comedic rap developed a life of its own, turning into memes left and right.

The song itself was officially released on September 22nd, 2017 and the music video definitely caught everyone’s attention (as if the song hadn’t already). The music video released on October 26th, 2017 featuring cameos from Waka Flocka, Lil Yachty and DJ Khaled just to name a few.

“Mans Not Hot” has now amassed over 46 million global streams and over 69 million YouTube views.  It’s what anyone is talking about, and for good reason – it’s catchy and hilarious.

With the success of his first single, fans are wondering if he will be releasing anything else soon. Big Shaq told NME that he may make a winter thing called “Man’s Not Cold.” Not sure if he’s joking or being serious. Either way, it would be a great follow up to “Man’s Not Hot”.
