Taylor Swift Surprises Fans & Returns To Nashville For Intimate PerformancePosted on April 2, 2018
Definitely would’ve thought it was an April Fool’s prank
Taylor Swift is pop royalty for a reason. She created 2017’s biggest-selling album and is kicking off an epic world tour in just over a month’s time. It’s all pretty typical of Swift, but also quite a departure from her usual album cycle. Compared to Taylor’s 1989 era, she’s kept things super low key this time around; performing the contents of her new album only a handful of times since its release, giving no interviews to press and even the paparazzi have no luck spotting her nowadays.
While that all may be true, she still makes time for her true fans.
On Thursday, Swifties were treated to a delightful surprise when an new version of the “Delicate” music video dropped exclusively on Spotify. Little did they know, that wasn’t the only surprise Taylor Swift had up her sleeve! The next day she arrived unannounced at the iconic Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.
What was originally a 35th anniversary celebration for the famed music venue quickly turned into an unforgettable and historic moment. Joined on stage by country songwriter Craig Wiseman, Taylor treated 40 concert goers to an intimate performance of her hit songs “Shake It Off”, “Love Story”, as well as “Better Man” which she wrote for country stars Little Big Town.
With a few shots of Fireball whiskey to break the ice, Taylor candidly spoke about her Nashville roots in between songs including the time Craig passed up on the opportunity to co-write Taylor’s mega hit “Love Story”. She claims he didn’t quite get it. Well, the rest of us certainly did considering the song went eight times platinum.
Among those in attendance for the performance was Big Machine Label Group CEO, Scott Borchetta. The man that discovered Swift at the Bluebird back in 2005 during an industry showcase. Who would have known that almost thirteen years later, Taylor Swift would have such a triumphant return to the iconic venue.
