Katy Perry Makes Political Statement At 2017 GRAMMYs

Guilty! We’re chained to Katy Perry’s GRAMMYs performance.

The pop sensation brought out all the stop at the award show on Sunday night in Los Angeles. From her wardrobe to her vocals and the underlying political message – Katy Perry rocked every angle. Let’s break it down for you!

WARDROBE

Katy started the night in sparkles & feathers. While this sounds risky AF, she pulled off nothing but GLAM:

She then changed into rose coloured glasses πŸ˜‰ for her debut “Chained To The Rhythm” performance. Her catchy new tune proves to be more than just that, with a critical look at how the world is living in a bubble. Her Tom Ford getup too, was more than a cute suit.

“The singer, styled by Jamie Mizrahi, hit the stage in a Tom Ford pantsuit (Hillary Clinton’s go-to silhouette) that featured the Planned Parenthood logo on the lapel. The look was paired with a bedazzled “Persist” armband, which no doubt referenced Elizabeth Warren’s tweet, in which the Massachusetts senator wrote, “Consider this MY warning: We won’t be silent. We will speak out. And we WILL persist.”” Hollywood Reporter

PERFORMANCE

This was the debut performance of Katy’s new single, but not at all her first GRAMMYs performance. Allow the video to explain for itself:

This pop Queen brought her vocal range out to play! She also brought out the feature artist on her track, Skip Marley (Bob Marley’s Grandson), which was super cool. Not only was the performance talent-filled though. Did you notice that Katy danced from a white picket fence, to The US Constitution?

Katy made a big political statement at the GRAMMYs & did not shy away from discussing this further online:
