14 MAY, 2020 (TORONTO) - The soulful, synth-heavy jam “All I Need” is the latest offering from Jacob Collier’s Djesse Vol. 3, the forthcoming installment in an epic 4-volume expedition through his musical palette which traverses full-scale orchestral, folk, jazz, electronic, funk, pop, R&B and beyond.
The Djesse project has to date featured over 20 collaborators, from Daniel Caesar and Lianne La Havas to dodie and Metropole Orkest, and for “All I Need” Collier has kept the bar high by enlisting the support of UK R&B starlet Mahalia and US singer and rapper Ty Dolla $ign.
"More than ever before, this is a time for celebration of our humanity, for understanding and empathy, for our communal creative energy to elevate people's spirits and remind us of what life is about” explains Collier. “The world is a family, and that even during times as difficult as these it's possible to bring joy to each other, to be loving irrespective of proximity, and to embrace the time we have to ourselves and with our loved ones to reflect, recharge and reimagine the world as we would like it to feel.”
The new single is the latest in a wave of activity, which includes 2 GRAMMY wins in January for Collier’s work on Djesse Vol. 1 and 2. Collier is now a four-time GRAMMY recipient, earning at least one Award for every album he's released so far.
Vol. 3 is due for release later this summer, via Hajanga/Decca/Interscope/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company.
