26 APRIL 2019 (TORONTO, ON) – Following a sold out North American Tour with Lennon Stella, Toronto’s own indie-pop band, VALLEY are excited share their deliberate new track, “Park Bench” with Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The release of “Park Bench” coincides with the band’s announcement of their forthcoming EP, MAYBE: Side B, coming June 7, 2019.
“’Park Bench’ is a timestamp from the year 2018,” says drummer Karah, “It touches on social, generational, and political ideas that we felt were relevant to us at the time.” “Park Bench” is reminiscent of the time they spent living and recording in the U.S., during what felt like a highpoint of social turmoil and learning how to navigate that. Guitarist Mike adds, “The song speaks about political issues and was written during a time of chaos in the American government and a lot of the world was divided by it. We wanted to make the song sound the way the world and our lives felt at the time. Lots of chaos, yet lots of beautiful people fighting for the right things, lots of push and pull, lots of voices being heard and being silenced.”
“Park Bench” is released as the second single from their upcoming project and the follow up to MAYBE: Side A which was released in November of last year. MAYBE: Side A, reengaged VALLEY’s existing fanbase and caught the attention of the indie music scene, garnering features with The 405, Idobi Radio and current radio play on Indie 88.

VALLEY, comprised of Rob (vocals), Mike (guitar), Alex (bass), and Karah (drums), are all musically trained, multi-instrumentalists that met when a recording studio double-booked their sessions and encouraged them to try playing together. The born-and-raised Canadians seized the opportunity in disguise and began developing what would ultimately become one of the most refreshing and engaging new bands of the decade. The facets that define the generation are inexorably woven into every aspect of who Valley is and what makes them incredible. From their DIY work ethic, their bottomless optimism, their bitter sweet relationship with social media and a voracious appetite for authenticity in an often overly manufactured media landscape.
