Canada’s Walk of Fame, an organization whose mission is to celebrate Canadians who have excelled in their respective fields and to inspire the next generation, presents Shawn Mendes with this year’s Allan Slaight Award, given out to young Canadian musicians who have had a positive impact on the industry.

Shawn, who began as a viral video star, released his debut album Handwritten, which hit No.1 in both Canadian and the U.S. Soundscan charts, making him the youngest artist in almost five years to have a number 1 album on the U.S. Billboard 200 Charts.
Some of his greatest hits include “Life Of The Party,” “Something Big,” and his latest single “Stitches.”
