Throughout the years, it seems one of the most certain predictors of commercial success in the music industry has been winning the Brits Critics’ Choice Award. It is arguable one of the most influential awards, almost guaranteeing success for any upcoming British acts, as it did for Florence + The Machine, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith and James Bay, to name a few. This year’s chosen recipient is none other than the very talented 24-year-old singer, songwriter and producer, Jack Garratt. //

“I am so humbled to have received this year’s Brits critics’ choice award,” says Garratt. “To have been nominated alongside Frances and Izzy Bizu was already a huge honour and a testament to the caliber of new UK music. To have been given this award is truly mind-blowing, considering I am one name in a hugely exciting time for music in this country. Thank you to everyone who voted, it means so much to me.”
Not only did he just win this hugely influential award, Jack has just been nominated by BBC‘s “Sound of 2016” poll, which aims at showcasing “the most exciting and innovative rising stars.” Similarly, this list is an additional indicator of big things to come for artists -simply peek at the list of past winners; almost all of them went on to become mega-stars: Sam Smith, Years & Years and Ellie Goulding.
Jack is set to release his debut album, PHASE, on February 19th– which is available for pre-order now. Its debut single is set to be “Worry,” which you can have a listen to here:
UPDATE: It has just been announced that Jack will be in North America several times in 2016! We are excited to announce that his Canadian tour date is in Toronto on March 3rd at The Garrison! You can get tickets here.
