It’s been a massive year for Canadian artists and music, and we were so excited to see so many Canadians represent this year at The 58th Annual Grammy Awards.
Abel Tesfaye, who you likely know as The Weeknd, went into the award show with an incredible seven nominations — including Album of The Year and Song of The Year. The Weeknd left the show with two Grammys: Best R&B Performance and Best Urban Contemporary Album for Beauty Behind The Madness. He also had one wonderful performance!
The two-time Grammy nominee, Ariana Grande introduced The Weeknd, making the “pun of the century,” as she called it; asking how he landed his seven nominations? He “Earned It.” Get it???
With a flash of red lights, The Weeknd appeared on stage in an classy suit with an ace bow tie.
But don’t think the smart wear stopped him from getting down. It did not! While he opened with his hit, “Can’t Feel My Face,” The Weeknd got his boogie on, as he famously does in the music video.
And that wasn’t all we got! The Weeknd gave us even more, next. Walking down to set numero dos, The Weeknd serenaded the crowd with a slow and powerful version of “In The Night.“ Accompanied by the beautiful sounds of both a piano and cello, this gave us literal chills down our spine. It shouldn’t have surprised us, but something about this classy performance, left us in total awe.
Sorry we just froze for a second there because #TheWeeknd has taken control of the #GRAMMYs stage + we’re speechless!!!! #UMCGRAMMYs

And it seems we weren’t the only ones left speechless. When the final notes were hit, and The Weeknd took a humble little bow, Adele was among the first people on her feet — along with Chris Stapleton! It’s heartwarming to watch artists supporting each other.
