We can’t get over how much Rooftop Riot 4 was an absolute, well, RIOT! From the cold drinks to the fantastic tunes, it was truly a perfect day. We touched down at the Mascot Brewery‘s gorgeous rooftop space on a beautiful sunny day to soak in some incredible new music from some soon-to-be-superstars! First up was Sebell, whose soulful voice soared through the Toronto streets. From his massive single “Promiseland” to upcoming smash “Blow My Mind”, his signature blend of dance and R&B sounds absolutely stunned the crowd. Oh, and a wicked cover of Destiny’s Child “Say My Name” doesn’t hurt either!
Fans of Tokyo Police Club and Vampire Weekend are going to go crazy when they hear The Elwins: the band perfects groovy indie rock that uplifts and gets toes tapping effortlessly. Our hips can’t stop shaking!
The ’80s-inspired, sun-soaked rhythms of the Darcys will be our summer soundtrack: “Miracle” begs to be heard in a convertible with the top-down. The funky bass line and neon synths should not be missed!
Keeping the dance party alive was 10digits! The DJ will draw you in with his incredible headpiece and keep you hypnotized with his unique blend of different genres under his electronic umbrella:
Closing out the show was TUNS, the megagroup featuring members from Sloan, Super Friendz and Inbreds. Canadiana influences shine through in their sound, with hints of each of the members’ past coming through. The vocal harmonies showcased at Rooftop Riot have us REALLY excited to see what’s in-store for these homegrown boys. Special thanks to our sponsors at Glassbox Barbershop, Tito’s Vodka, THE STOP & Exclaim for helping pull off this incredible event. We’ll see you next year! 😉
