Was seeing Shawn Mendes the highlight of our summer?
No–it was a highlight of our LIVES.
The Pickering, Ontario native absolutely blew us away with a sold-out show at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto last night… just a quick drive from his hometown!
From opening the set with “Something Big”, Shawn completely wowed the 20,000 person crowd with just his powerful voice and guitar.

The setlist reminded us of how many hits he has from just one released studio album and another arriving on the way (Illuminate, September 23, baby!)
“Life of the Party” and “Mercy” proved to be crowd favourites, as well as current smash single “Treat You Better.”

Some of the biggest surprises of the night came from unexpected covers. Shawn interpolated lyrics from Eminem‘s “Lose Yourself”, Justin Bieber‘s “Love Yourself”, and Drake & Rihanna‘s “Work” and “Good To You.” We’re dying to have official remix versions of all of these renditions!

Closing out with his biggest hit to date, “Stitches”, every person rose to their feet and SCREAMED every syllable to every lyric. Our ears will be ringing for days, but it was SO worth it.
We’re hoping Shawn returns soon once we have Illuminate in full. In the meantime, we’ll be looking back on these incredible memories with a full heart and a massive smile!
