Five New Incredible Songs To Jam Out To This Labour Day Weekend

Posted on September 03, 2016

With long weekends come great responsibility. You’ve GOT to time manage right, because Labour Day only comes around once a year. We’ve taken the grunt work out of finding new music–luckily, there is a HUGE wave of new jams to satisfy any playlist. Here are some of our picks to have you groovin’ and shakin’ before the ‘S word’ hits (hint: it rhymes with “Cool,” not the other one…)

ALUNAGEORGE – “MEDIATOR”

A slow-burning electronic jam, AlunaGeorge‘s “Mediator” is a sexy, slinky, subdued cut from the UK duo. It shows incredible promise for what the rest of their next album, I Remember, will sound like. September 16, PLEASE come faster! [Stream/download here]

JAMES BLAKE FT. VINCE STAPLES – TIMELESS

This cut originally appeared on James Blake‘s third LP, The Colour In Anything, released this past summer. But one of the freshest voices in hip-hop, Vince Staples, has put his own signature spin on the track. The two previously collaborated on Staples’ Prima Donna EP released last week, and we hope this remix means a full collab project is on the horizon! *Crosses fingers* [Stream/download here]

M.I.A. FT. ZAYN – FREEDUN

Heavy bass drums, Tarzan + Lara Croft references, and Zayn’s silky smooth vocals… M.I.A. and the former One Direction member are a match made in heaven. Stay tuned for M.I.A.‘s upcoming full-length, A.I.M., out September 9. [Stream/download here]

ELLIE GOULDING – STILL FALLING FOR YOU (JONAS BLUE REMIX)

Jonas Blue retains the euphoric feel of Ellie Goulding‘s original, but the remix of “Still Falling For You” gives the song lots of extra bounce. This is one of those ‘long convertible drives with the top down’ songs to vibe out to. [Stream/download here]

ZEDD AND GREY – ADRENALINE

They say great minds think alike, and this Zedd and Grey collaboration brings two of EDM’s biggest names under one roof. The song title is perfect: “Adrenaline” combines warped synths with rolling bongo hits, and gravity-defying builds with plummeting bass drops. It sets a new high for both parties.
