The Weeknd Links With Daft Punk For New Single "Starboy"

Posted on September 22, 2016

What does a “Starboy” do when he releases one of the most acclaimed albums of 2015?

He sets out to top it.

We just passed the year mark since The Weeknd‘s smash album Beauty Behind the Madness dropped, but Abel Tesfaye refuses to rest.

After teasing us with the artwork and title for new album Starboy, he has now unleashed the first song from the project.

The title track features electronic behemoth Daft Punk on the softened production, but the Weeknd’s lyrics are still razor sharp. He continues to flex about money stacks, cars, and women as his signature falsetto soars.

With airy synthesizers, snappy snares, and Daft Punk’s robotic vocal loops, the track breathes new life into Tesfaye’s impressive discography.

Fans of his “Nocturnal” collaboration with Disclosure last year will LOVE the dance influence found on “Starboy“!
