The return of Bastille is upon us, and we couldn’t be happier.
The indie pop darlings touched down in Toronto for an incredible 16-song set. We weren’t sure if they would be able to make it due to Dan Smith cancelling the band’s New York show due to illness, but luckily, he made a recovery and sounded better than ever!
The punchy bass and infectious hand claps of “Good Grief” were the first sounds to hit our ears… and our dancing feet couldn’t resist the takeover.
This was the first time we heard Wild World tracks like “The Currents”, “An Act of Kindness” and “Warmth”… and the MASSIVE choruses reverberated through the entire venue. We still can’t get the contagious melodies off of our brain!
Don’t worry throwback classics off Bad Blood were mixed in for good measure, too!
As the show came to a close, Bastille played one of their biggest hits, “Flaws”. Lead singer Dan decided there was one more thing he had to do…get into the crowd! If you wanted an intimate show, this was the moment to make your night perfect.
All good things must come to an end, and Bastille capped off the night on a high note. Their colossal smash “Pompeii” sent pure euphoria into the air. It was an adrenaline rush we don’t know we’ll ever be able to replicate again! Safe to say, every person in the 2,000 crowd probably lost their voice.
