Ariana Grande Named Honorary Citizen Of Manchester

Posted on July 13, 2017

Following the One Love Manchester benefit concert earlier this year, Miss Ariana Grande has officially been named an honorary citizen of Manchester. ❤️️

The benefit concert raised over $4.3 million for charity, ultimately raising eyebrows (in a good way!) from Manchester’s City Council. After a Councillor vote, which, may we add, was unanimous, it was decided that Ari would be named an honorary citizen of Manchester. Since their change in the honours system, Ariana is one of the first to be recognized. 👏

During the ceremony, the Council’s leader, Sir Richard Leese made the following statement:

“[Ariana] raised millions for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund and became the first patron of that fund. And that’s why I propose that Ariana Grande is made the first honorary citizen of the city of Manchester.”

AWWW! Good job, Ari – we are so incredibly proud of you. 💘
