The rumours are in fact true – Selena Gomez is on the cover of InStyle Magazine for their September 2017 issue, and we could not be happier. Just look at that shot and how mature and sophisticated she looks… 😍👌
In her recent interview with Editor in Chief of InStyle Magazine, Laura Brown, Selena is her authentic self, discussing everything from her time coping with her insecurities to the second season of 13 Reasons Why. She even talked briefly about her relationship with Abel, better known as The Weeknd.
Laura says that when she saw Selena walk into the room where they were having their conversation, the star had looked like she had grown. While they used to meet up at Hooters in the past, they were now at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. Selena used to have her ‘Dream Out Loud’ collection with Kmart, but now she has partnerships with Pantene and Coach. To Laura, her evolution and growth as a woman is apparent, and to us, it is too. ❤️️
When Laura comments on her age, Selena replies saying that she sometimes “wish[es] numbers didn’t exist”, and that at times, she feels like she is 15, whereas other times, she feels like she is 40.
Looking back on when she canceled her tour last year, Selena implies that she is happy with her decision, having used that time to “[go] away for 90 days”, which she says “was the best thing that [she] ever could’ve done.” She says that she was away from everything and upon her return, was asked to attend the American Music Awards. Although she was nervous to be stepping out into the spotlight once again, she felt like it was the right thing to do. She wanted to show her fans that taking care of your sanity and well-being is in no way, shape, or form, a bad thing.
Selena leaves the interview with some powerful words. When asked about her ambition, she responds with:
“I’m not afraid to be wrong now. Because I would rather say, “I stand by this.” You have to not be afraid to make mistakes because that’s how you figure it all out. I’m ambitious in every area of my life. I want to be a better daughter, a better friend, a better influencer. I want to feel something.”
We LOVE.

Oh, and before we forget. It’s recommended you watch her latest music video for “Fetish” at least once a day. Doctors told us that. (Doctors did not actually tell us that … but like, it’s SO GOOD!).
