Troye Sivan is heading back to the silver screen.
The 22-year-old pop sensation is putting music on hold–momentairly!–to flex his acting chops.
Sivan will join the cast of Joel Edgerton’s Boy Erased, scheduled for release in 2018. The movie is based on Garrard Conley’s memoir detailing his traumatic experience in gay conversion therapy.
Lucas Hedges of Manchester By The Sea fame will play the main character, while Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Xavier Dolan and Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers will round out the cast.
As a prominent LGBT advocate, Sivan is more than excited to be a part of Boy Erased:

There’s no word on his role yet, but we’re sure Troye will go above and beyond the call of duty!
