Migos 101: A Guide to Rap’s Hottest Trio

Posted on November 06, 2017

Consider this your Migos Encyclopedia.

Meet Migos. The Atlanta-born trio of Quavo, Takeoff and Offset, whose songs have undoubtedly been relentlessly stuck in your head. Think “Bad and Boujee” and most recently “Motorsport.”  With songs on every playlist worth listening to, Migos are thriving right now. So it’s the perfect time to get clued up on all you need to know about the group.

Not only have the guys been making music together since 2009, but they’re also related and grew up with each other. Clearly musical talent runs in the family. Following the release of a couple mixtapes, Migos gained huge attention for “Versace” way back in 2013. A remix of the track by Drake, added fuel to the fire making the song even hotter. Their fame continued to grow after being featured on various notable lists by top publications like Complex and Rolling Stone.

In 2015, their debut album Yung Rich Nation, sold over 14,000 copies in the first week alone. This first album steadily built up the anticipation for their second album Culture to be released at the beginning of 2017. With a loaded line-up of guest features and chart-topping tracks like “Bad and Bougee” Migos’ success only continued to grow.

Fast forward to the present and you’ll find fans of the group eagerly awaiting the release of their next album Quality Control Presents: Control the Streets Volume One. But it’s not all a waiting game, the guys featured on Katy Perry’s song “Bon Appétit” on her latest album Witness back in April. And most recently, they released “Motorsport” with Nicki Minaj and Cardi B (who just so happens to be recently engaged to Offset).

Have a listen to “MotorSport” to tide you over until the new album drops:
