It truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
The lighting of the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Center is a New York City tradition for all and the live, two-hour NBC special Christmas in Rockefeller Center is all part of that tradition. Tons of people show up to the landmark and if they can’t be there, they tune into the broadcast every year.
During the special it’s not just the lighting of the 80-foot tree that you’ll see. There’s also various performers coming out to celebrate the holiday season.
There’s no doubt that the lighting of this tree marks a special moment in New York.
This year, Gwen Stefani and The Tenors took the stage to embellish the ceremony and get everyone feeling super festive. The two acts put on stellar performances and we’d be lying if we said our eyes weren’t glued to the tv.
Gwen Stefani was dressed up in a shimmering silver and black patterned gown, while The Tenors looked spiffy in their classic patterned suits.
The holiday themed set featured sparkling Christmas decorations and glowing lights to set the mood. And to add to the already beautiful set were two great performers.
Gwen Stefani performed “Let It Snow” and “My Gift Is You” from her holiday themed album, You Make It Feel Like Christmas. While The Tenors, who are platinum-selling Canadian artists joined the star studded line-up to perform songs off their holiday album, Christmas Together.
It was definitely a magical night.
