Posted on December 22, 2017

Short on time, but NOT creativity.

The holidays are all about giving. Giving love, cheer and fantastically thoughtful gifts. But that doesn’t mean you need to empty your bank account to give a gift worth giving. Your friends and family will appreciate anything you give and if that means you have to DIY something, then so be it.

Sometimes the DIY gifts are the best. They’re creative, they’re one-of-a-kind and they save you a load of money. If you’re struggling to think of a gift for that someone special, check out these heartfelt DIY options.

Picture Frame

This is super simple, but makes such a great gift. Anyone in your life will definitely appreciate this.  You can do one of two things – or if you’re adventurous, do both. Print out their fave lyrics or fave artist photo and place it into a beautiful frame.

And if you want to step it up a notch, you can totally decorate the frame as well.

Love.

DIY Christmas Ornament

This can be done however you want. It’s your chance to great real creative. But if you need some inspo, this is what we would do.

  1. Make a mini gift box out of card stock paper
  2. Decorate the gift box however you would like
  3. Add mini bells and ribbon on top for the bow
  4. Attach it all together with a piece of string
  5. If you want to get super crafty, before folding the box up write a lovely message to the person that they can open & read

There you have it.

Personalized Polaroid Album

If you have a friend that’s into documenting every single second their life in photos, then this is it. The days of printed photos is not dead yet! Everyone loves a keepsake.

Print pics of your music lover at concerts, meeting their fave artists, and obviously of the two of you having lots of fun. Then place them all in a cute album that you either made or a cheap one that you decorated.

DIY Mini Christmas Tree

Have a music lover that’s also into decor pieces? Purchase a mini Christmas tree and decorate it with ornaments. Not just any old ornaments, but cut-out ornaments of their fave artists.

You’ll get a hilarious reaction out of it, but they will definitely love. Hint: someone do this for us, please.

Personalized Pillow Cover

Similar to framing lyrics, you can also get them printed onto a pillow cover. This is a great decorative piece, but also super functional for the music lover in your life. If you can’t splurge on getting it printed, then hit up the nearest crafts store for some stencils and paint to do it yourself et voila.

Personalized Guitar Pick

Again, something super simple, but also very useful for anyone who is a guitar lover. Purchase a plain guitar pick and decorate it with a few lyrics, or if you’re an artist, you can totally have fun with this one.

Pro tip: make sure to use permanent marker, and once you’re finished, paint a coat of clear nail polish over-top to prevent the marker from smearing.

Paint A Piece Of Art

This is for all you artists out there. Use your talents this holiday season! Nothing is more special than gifting a personalized painting to someone in your life.

If you know the music lover in your life is a fan of a particular band or artist, then now is your perfect chance to gift them with a beautiful piece.

Shawn Mendes Inspo Gift

Calling all Shawn Mendes fans! His guitar tattoo is a our last gift inspo. Have your music lovers’ fave song transcribed into sound waves for a beautiful piece of art that can also be framed and hung on the wall.
