Why Logic’s Song “1-800-273-8255” Will ALWAYS Be Relevant

1-800-273-8255

For many people, the coming of a new year means a fresh start to set new goals and work towards meeting them. However, for some people this isn’t the case and instead it becomes a time where they feel hopeless and alone. While we all lead busy lives, it’s important to take the time to remember that there are people, strangers and even those close to us, who may need your help.

When Logic released “1-800-273-8255” with Alessia Cara and Khalid, it opened up the dialogue for people suffering from mental illness as well as those who aren’t, but are willing to learn more and work towards spreading awareness. This is why it’s more than a song and is still relevant and will remain relevant.

As Logic told mental health help organisation I’m Listening, “Mental health does not discriminate. It affects everybody, regardless of race, religion, creed and sexual orientation.”

So, on #BellLetsTalk Day and everyday hereafter it’s time to remind ourselves and those around us that it really is okay to not be okay. And more than that, it’s OKAY to ask for help. You are not a burden, you are important and though sometimes it may not seem that way, there are people who are willing and able to help you; whether that may be by simply lending a listening ear or in other ways.
