These Artists Are The Ones To Watch In 2019

New year, means it’s time for a new playlist. Kick off 2019 with some of the best new up and coming talent out there. We’ve compiled a list of the acts set to have a huge year in 2019 and there’s something for everyone, regardless of your musical taste.

Here are our 2019 Artists To Watch:


2018 proved to be a huge year for Canadian rock band The Beaches, with a JUNO win, opening slot for The Foo Fighters, an unforgettable moment with the iconic Sir Elton John and even a headlining tour in the U.S. The recent release of new single, “Fascination” proves the band is on an upward spiral to success.



Since the age of 16, Amaal has spent years recording and releasing music independently. The singles “With You”, “Mufasa” and “Words Revealed” established her unique voice and cemented her global following. Amaal has tons in store for 2019.



Formerly a Vancouver Canucks draft pick Chad Brownlee is now a country star on the rise. He’s received critical acclaim and numerous accolades including a JUNO nomination for Country Album of the Year, and consecutive nominations at the CCMAs. His debut single, “Dear Drunk Me” even peaked at #2 on Country Radio Charts.



What a year Ella Mai has had. Resurrecting the old-school R&B that many grew up with and missed fervently, hit us right in the sweet spot catapulting “Boo’d Up”, the lead single off of her self-titled debut album, to accrue platinum status. Following her headlining tour and support tour with Bruno Mars, Ella hits the road for her debut tour in 2019. 



East Adelaide is made up of veteran musicians, lead singer Mike Robins and drummer Andrew Mackay, from JUNO and CCMA nominated Autumn Hill, and bassist Randie Van Gorp who has played with the likes of Fefe Dobson, Shawn Desman and Tebey. East Adelaide offers a fresh spin on country traditions and together, they are keen to share it and get back to doing what they love, playing music.



A mysterious pop act known only as ASHS has emerged from Toronto’s underground music scene, bringing with her a fresh and eclectic sound that has garnered the praise of music influencers from around the globe.



Allan Rayman’s album, ‘Harry Hard-On’, has received critical acclaim, with Time Magazine praising the track, “Crush.” The new album follows his projects, Hotel Allan, Roadhouse 01 and Courtney which helped the artist build a cult following. 



Johnny Orlando has had an unreal year. Between touring the world with co-headlining and sold-out North American and European tours, signing a major recording deal, releasing amazing new music, Johnny has taken the music scene by storm and has a ton up his sleeve for 2019. 



21-year-old Canadian born artist, BAD CHILD is set to make his grand entrance in 2019. After releasing “Bad Child” and “Payback” at the ending of 2018, he’s been teasing more new music and the potential for a tour to come together in the new year.



From winning the CCMA Rising Star Award, to landing on the Prime Minister’s playlist of fave hits, and performing at the Grey Cup, brother-sister country duo, The Reklaws have taken the country music scene by storm and show no signs of letting up in 2019.



Winner of the 2017 Boots and Hearts Emerging artist showcase, Jade Eagleson’s debut single “Got Your Name On It” charted at #6 Canadian Country Radio Charts with the video amassing over five million views. It’s just the start for the budding country star.



They may have only been releasing music for a year, but NEW CITY have already had a #1 Most Added Radio Single and a GOLD certified record with their first major release “Dirty Secrets”. The traction gained them the attention of the legendary Timbaland, who himself noted, “These guys are incredibly talented and have what it takes to be superstars.”



Irish singer songwriter Dermot Kennedy has had a huge year in 2018 and with his hit “Power Over Me” striking a cord among the likes of Taylor Swift, it looks like 2019 will surely be another smashing year for the emerging artist. 



VALLEY cemented the path for themselves after writing and self-producing the acclaimed 2016 EP ‘This Room Is White’, which garnered over 10 million streams and lead up to the release of their latest project MAYBE: Side A on November 23.



You may already be one of the 14 million other people following everything Loren Gray does. The teenage, self-made phenomenon’s latest single, “Kick You Out” introduces the world to the 16-year-old’s distinct brand of pop: edgy, stylish, unapologetic, and empowering.



Maggie Rogers has come a long way since the day Pharrell Williams discovered her by chance as a surprise guest in a masterclass hosted by her school. With an Saturday Night Live appearance, over 100 million streams on her debut track “Alaska” and opening for Mumford and Sons on tour, Maggie’s career is seriously ramping up.



UK singer, songwriter and musician. Jade was selected as part of the BBC Sound of 2018 Long List alongside Billie Eilish, Khalid. While she currently works on her upcoming for the new year, Jade continues to receive widespread critical acclaim for her 2017 EP, ‘Something American’.
