The long-awaited release of Taylor Swift’s seventh studio album, Lover, is just around the corner. The pop singer has been keeping us amped for her the album (due out August 23, 2019) with the release of the album’s singles, ME! and You Need to Calm Down.

The music video for TS7’s second single, ‘You Need To Calm Down’, released on June 17, 2019 and Taylor teased a bunch of celebrity cameos. Taylor has is an outspoken supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, and the release of her newest video allows her to shine a light on LGBTQ+ stars. To say the least, she did not disappoint!

Dexter Mayfield

The first cameo of the video goes to Dexter Mayfield. He is a queer, plus-size model who is taking the world by storm with his killer walk!

Hannah Hart

The mind behind My Drunk Kitchen on Youtube, Hannah Hart was also featured in Taylor Swift’s latest video. Hart came out as a lesbian in September 2015.

Laverne Cox

The transgender actress, Laverne Cox, known for her role in Orange is the New Black as Sophia Burset looked stunning as always in her cameo role! She is also notable for her activist work as a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community.

Todrick Hall

Not a newbie to a Taylor Swift music video, the openly gay YouTuber known as Todrick Hall was also featured in her ‘Look What You Made Me Do‘ video as a dancer! Todrick is also known for his frequent appearances on RuPaul’s Drag Race as a choreographer and judge.

You might know Chester from appearing in over 300 of Todrick Hall’s videos. While Chester may be a familiar face, this marks the openly gay singer’s first Swift video appearance!

Known to many as Lesbian Jesus, pop singer Hayley Kiyoko can be seen firing a bow and arrow in the music video.


Officiating the wedding of real life couple, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita, singer Ciara can be seen in her dazzling orange catsuit! Ciara responded to backlash of her participation in the video saying “Firstly, Christians don’t judge. Secondly, #YouNeedToCalmDown.”

Adam Lambert and Ellen DeGeneres

The American Idol season 8 runner-up is seen giving the talk show host a tattoo that reads ‘Cruel Summer’. Adam Lambert had come out as gay in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2009 whereas Ellen had notably come out as a lesbian in 1997 – which was groundbreaking for the entertainment industry during the time.
