New Music Friday: Conan Gray, Ariana Grande, LILHUDDY and more!

Posted on February 19, 2021

Is it just us or did this week fly by?! Maybe it was the long weekend or maybe it was the anticipation for New Music Friday, which by the way, is back today! This week, we’ve got eight new releases; some from artists we haven’t heard from in a while, as well as some surprises 👀

While you scroll, listen to this New, Fresh & Now playlist!

Conan Gray “Overdrive”

Stephanie Perez

Conan Gray is back with his new song “Overdrive,” which he’s been teasing on his socials and with a countdown on his website. “Overdrive” is all about living in the moment and we are so here for it, especially in a year like 2021!

NF “Clouds”

Imagine your fave asked YOU, a mere fan, to collaborate on a track. Well, that’s exactly what went down when NF released his single “Chasing” with Mikayla Sippel back in October of 2020; talk about a dream come true. Now he’s back with “Clouds,” and despite those somber vibes, we are ✨thrilled✨ to see what’s next from him – and who knows, maybe you’ll be his next feature.

LILHUDDY “The Eulogy of You and Me”

Max Gervink

For a song with the word ‘eulogy’ in the title, this track is pretty upbeat. With lyrics about cutting ties with a toxic flame, the meaning is bittersweet; sad to let go, but happy to move on. It’s no wonder that contrast between cheery instrumentals and gloomy lyrics draws us in. We have a feeling that this one will be stuck in our head for literal weeks, but we’re not mad about it.

Ariana Grande “positions (deluxe)”

You’ve heard about the remixed version of “34+35,” but did you know Ari added four new tracks to “positions” on top of that? Of course you did, because Arianators are always ahead of the curve.

The now 19-track album features songs called “someone like u (interlude),” “test drive,” “worst behavior,” “main thing,” and of course, the “34+35” remix. Here’s hoping the tracks never stop flowing!

Ebhoni “X” Album

Dean Bein

“X” comes a little over one week after Ebhoni’s similarly-titled track, “X-Ting.” This four-track EP is so catchy, you’ll be listening over and over again just to relive the way you felt the first time you heard it. We can’t wait to find out what’s next for Ebhoni!

Lil Yachty feat. Kodak Black “Hit Bout It”

Khlarissa Agee

Lil Yachty is absolutely killing it rn. After releasing two monster albums in 2020 with a grand total of forty-six tracks, he’s back again with single after single. Today, he dropped clever track, “Hit Bout It” feat. Kodak Black. Thankfully, Lil Yachty shows no signs of interrupting that legendary creative flow.
