Still Woozy “Kenny”
Portland-based artist born Sven Gamsky, better known as Still Woozy, has returned with a new genre-bending single, “Kenny.” Over a dreamy, spaced-out acoustic instrumental, Sven sings about embracing happiness and learning to trudge onward in a troubled world.
“I wrote ‘Kenny’ after experiencing life in the great plains of Montana for a bit. I met people I will never forget, people never fed by the silver spoon who could genuinely laugh about gambling away 60k in one night, people living in what felt at the time to be the middle of nowhere. To me the space and pace of the song reflects the vastness and loneliness of the area.” – Still Woozy

Los Angeles’ rising alternative artist, contradash, is here with his first release of the year! “222pm” is bright and up-tempo, the production making it contradash’s most pulsing alt-pop song to date. Don’t forget to check out the official video directed by Stefan Kohli, who’s worked with Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo, Trippie Redd, Jeremy Zucker, and LANY to name a few.
“‘222’ comes from the version of myself that I see in the mirror. During a time where I was more confused with life than ever, I had the pleasure of meeting Dylan Brady (producer). Within 30 minutes, he helped me reintroduce myself to music. I felt reinvented, like I’d just made my first song. Stefan Kohli and Noah Talas were the only people who could have been able to wrap a video around this feeling — I’m grateful to share this song and video with all of them.” – contradash

Montreal indie band, Half Moon Run, have released their second single off their upcoming EP, ‘Inwards & Onwards,’ out June 18th. The track is titled “On & On” and yes, we have been playing it on & on since it dropped. It sees Half Moon Run contemplating “on humanity’s place among the stars,” and comes with a must-watch Alex Tomlinson-animated video using live facial tracking of the band, painting colourful, futuristic beams of light over their faces.
Devon of Half Moon Run said about the song, “Sometimes limitations can provide a platform for productive creativity. In this case, the limitations of living in a pandemic prompted us to record and mix all of the music for the first time using only our own abilities. Attempting to keep the process simple and enjoyable, we shied away from over-production and leaned into spontaneity and happy accidents.”
