Crown Lands ‘Context: Fearless Pt. 1 (Live Expanded)’

Canadian rock duo Crown Lands – Kevin Comeau (guitar, bass, and keys) and Cody Bowles (vocals and drums) –  released live versions of their latest tracks, “Context: Fearless Pt. 1” and “Right Way Back” today! You can watch the live performance video of “Right Way Back” recorded at Revolution Studios above.

Following the release of these songs, Crown Lands revealed their plans to begin recording again, and to put out a series of songs in small batches throughout the year with more flexibility to experiment. One word: stoked.

“These are our best songs yet and they’re opening the door for the future. They propel us to a whole new era of music, and hint at what’s to come.” – Cody Bowles

Soran “Say It To My Face”

Born on the south shore of Montreal to a Japanese mother and a French father, Soran grew up surrounded by his father’s musical instruments, on which he could begin to experiment and learn from a young age. His experience of growing up in a musical household shines through in his new song, “Say It To My Face.” This is his second single of 2021, following the largely successful release, “Bottled Up.”

Emanuel “Worldwide”

JUNO-nominated Canadian R&B phenom, Emanuel, released his new single, “Worldwide” today! Emanuel describes the song as a manifestation mantra; capturing a time when dreams were still dreams – before his music was streamed millions of times around the globe and his talent was admired by fans and critics alike.

“During that time, we were really dreaming out loud in the way that we would talk about our futures and in the way that we were trying to summon this grand reality. This song was really born from the deep want to take the music to the world.” – Emanuel

Conan Gray “Astronomy”

Today is a good day to be a fan of Conan Gray (yes, we’re aware that rhymed). Following his single “Overdrive” from February, Conan’s returned with new song, “Astronomy”…plus a lyric video plus an official video! He’s not messing around. Look out for more to come later this year!

“‘Astronomy’ is about that slow, painful, often denial inducing process of growing apart from somebody. That moment when all of a sudden you look at that person you’ve loved for years and realize you no longer know them. That you two exist on two different worlds now. I find the worst heartbreaks happen slowly. No blowout fight and slamming doors and showing up on doorsteps while it’s raining. Just a gradual decaying of love with nothing left to do to stop it from slipping away. There’s no explanation, nobody to blame. That hurts the most.” – Conan Gray

Lil Tecca “Never Left”

Multiplatinum rapper Lil Tecca returned today with his brand new single and video, “Never Left,” instantly impressing us with his verbal gymnastics. The Declan Kyle-directed music video that goes along with this track has Lil Tecca connecting two cables with a purple electric current before lighting up every scene that follows. All kinds of superhero-style antics ensue as he shocks hip-hop with a jolt of his signature electricity – here for it!

Trippie Redd “Miss The Rage (feat. Playboi Carti)”

Following up rapper Trippie Redd’s first-ever “rock” album, ‘Neon Shark vs. Pegasus,’ he’s back with a brand new single today featuring Playboi Carti! “Miss The Rage” definitely marks a return to hip-hop, perfectly blending the two rapper’s aesthetics. This collab is not only special for us, but for Trippie Redd too! In an interview with XXL, he describes how Playboi Carti is one of his top five favourite artists.

Sometimes you gotta say fuck it tho.” And we’re very glad he did. Don’t know about you, but we’ll have “i n t e r l u d e” on repeat until the record drops on May 14th.
