Ahhh award shows, we love to see our artists shine because of you, the fans! Live from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles straight to your cozy screening at home, but if you missed it we’ve got you covered. It was a night packed with huge wins, incredible performances and some jaw-dropping looks to say the least.
Olivia Rodrigo – New Artist of the Year
Huge win for Liv tonight with New Artist of the Year, we’re so proud! That performance though…had us feelin’ all the feels. Such a beautiful, stripped-down performance of her single “Traitor” – if you didn’t shed a tear or two, then you’re lying. It was also her AMAs stage debut, so many firsts for Olivia this year and we’re so happy to see her work her magic. Also, talk about that beautiful field of flowers setup on stage, sets the mood just right.
Taylor Swift – Favourite Pop Album
Taylor won, Favourite Pop Album for Evermore and although she couldn’t be there in person, she made sure that all the fans knew how much she appreciates the love and support you all give and continue to show her.
BTS – Artist of the Year
The group won BIG and took home not one, not two, but three awards: Artist of the Year, Favourite Pop Duo or Group, and Favourite Pop Song for “Butter” – which they performed to close the show! Let us tell you, that performance was fun, energetic, and so charming – literally everything that we love about BTS and more! They also performed “My Universe” with Coldplay and well…how perfect was that?
Machine Gun Kelly – Favourite Rock Artist
Colson for the win with Favourite Rock Artist! Can we also take a minute to appreciate how wholesome it was to see him with his 12-year-old daughter, Casie. Huge credit to YOU, the fans for getting his award televised – big power move. Also, did you see how Machine Gun Kelly took the ‘mic drop’ to a whole new level? He drops it with the stand too. Rockstar move.
We want to congratulate Drake for winning, Favourite Male Hip-Hop Artist, The Weeknd for winning, Favourite Male R&B Artist, Carrie Underwood for Favourite Female Country Artist, Luke Bryan for Favourite Male Country Artist and last but not least, Marshmello for Favourite Dance/Electronic Artist at the AMAs! They’re always our favourites too.
Zoe Wees – Performance
Umm Zoe, can we talk about those vocals? Her debut performance at the AMAs and she stole the spotlight with “Girls Like Us.” A powerful message and an even more powerful and emotional performance. We’re excited to see what she does next!
Mickey Guyton – Performance
Mickey didn’t hold anything back for her moving performance of “All American.” Performing for the first time on the AMAs stage, this song carries such a strong message about love and unity that the only acceptable response was a standing ovation from the crowd.
