CANADIAN XO RECORDS ARTIST BLACK ATLASS ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM, JOINS THE WEEKND TOUR, AND SHARES NEW SONG, “BY MY SIDE” (FT. SONIA)
13 MARCH 2020 (TORONTO, ON) - Black Atlass has announced his upcoming album Dream Awake which is slated for release April 3rd via XO Records/Republic Records/Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company. The announcement comes alongside the new single, "By My Side" feat. Sonia, which sees both artists reflecting on new lovers that make them feel whole again. "By My Side" is the second single off the project following "Lie To Me", his first new song since 2018. The video for the "Lie To Me" follows him and a love interest on a warped trip through an abandoned mansion, wandering through dim corridors and stairwells alongside lyrics expressing the pain of uncovering troubled pasts and yearning to hear lies instead of the painful truth. The two tracks are a clear marker for the album's tone and sets the bar for the forthcoming project.
Black Atlass on the album: "Dream Awake' is a metaphor to describe the feeling of lust. The album is a journey about the joy and chaos two people experience in the process of coming to know one another and ultimately falling in love."
Black Atlass will also be joining The Weeknd on the European leg of his massive After Hours Tour which kicks off June 11th and makes stops across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and France with additional support from Sabrina Claudio.
