12 AUGUST 2022 (TORONTO, ON) – Provocative LGBTQ+ electro-pop duo COMANAVAGO (pronounced “come and have a go”) team up with breakout Canadian sensation Rêve on “Meat” – the duo’s latest release out via Ultra Music/Universal Music Canada.

Consisting of Ben Dunkerley (they/them) and Gabriel Swarbrick (he/him), “Meat” fuses pulsing beats with fast-paced rave synths and unforgettable vocal samples which add a new layer of brilliance to the upbeat dance-pop number. With the risqué lyrics to “Meat” initially starting out as an ode to pornstars and sexualization of the human form, COMANAVAGO and Rêve bring the banger to life with diva vocal moments for a sweaty, late-night club feel.

In a statement about the single, the band say: "Ben and Gabe had written the track back in 2021 after Ben had jokingly titled a beat "Meat". Gabe knew exactly what to say over it. Then following an introduction with the lovely Rêve, she lent her gorgeous vocals to the track and the anthem now exists as you have it today!"

Meanwhile, Rêve’s appearance on “Meat” follows a string of successful moments for the Apple Up Next artist, with popularity and critical praise continuing to grow for the breakout artist further proven with her Platinum-certified, Top 10 radio hit “CTRL + ALT + DEL,” which has amassed 42 million streams since its release and secured the artist a #1 spot on the TikTok (US) Electronic playlist.

“Meat” follows on from COMANAVAGO’s viral cover of Sylvester’s ‘70s disco classic “You Make Me Feel” with Solardo and the eccentric hyperpop and retro infused disco riffs of recent single “Leave Him” (watch) – with features coming in hot for the track from the likes of Rolling Stone India, Official Charts, The Q Review and Yass Magazine, “Leave Him” received extensive support across DSPs via Emerging Electronic, Late Night Electronic and Dance 2022 and New Dance Friday on Spotify as well as Electric Disco on Amazon Music.

Having already worked with the likes of Tim Powell (Cher, MK, Little Mix, Pet Shop Boys) and Duane Harden (#1 dance hits with Armand Van Helden and Powerhouse), COMANAVAGO marked a new chapter of their careers in the post-Covid world by signing to the famed Ultra Music (Calvin Harris, deadmau5, Sofi Tukker). Now with plans to relaunch their exquisite dance-pop debut Heart Failure later this year, 2022 is set to be a definitive year for the pair as accompanying new music, September 28th will see their infamously exuberant live set brought back to fans at Peckham Audio – previously sold out by the pair alongside another show at The Brink.

Undeniably knocking on the doors of stardom, COMANAVAGO’s braggadocios artistry harkens to the days of Prince strutting on stage. On a mission to bring back this lost aura devoid of gender norms, cultural inhibitions and the ultimate desire to be your true self, the pop landscape has been waiting for an act like COMANAVAGO to break through – stay tuned for much more this year.
