03 FEBRUARY 2023 (TORONTO, ON) – Today, rising Memphis rapper and first time Grammy Nominee, GloRilla releases “Internet Trolls,” a scathing, yet playful new single aimed at all the keyboard warriors across the World Wide Web. Listen HERE via CMG/Interscope Records/Universal Music Canada. Pointed and hilarious, it’s only fitting that the song comes with an equally entertaining video. Watch it HERE.
Pedaling across thumping 808s and frenetic horns, Glo wastes no time throwing verbal darts at the clout-chasers and the pretenders of the world: “Watch out for them internet trolls, they be trying to satisfy them internet goals,” she raps. “You just got locked up ’cause the internet told, fake it til you make it, that's the internet code.” It’s another notable addition to a discography already rich in quotable bangers.
In the Troy Roscoe-directed visual, Glo puts the spotlight on all the cappers of the world, from the irresponsible mother who swears she’s always there for her kids to the dad who jumps on Instagram with a water gun to look like a tough guy. Before too long, Glo gets up close and personal to exact revenge on her own cyber haters. As funny as it is relevant, the song and visual serve as a reminder to be yourself. Watch it HERE.
Last year, Glo exploded onto the national scene with “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” a breakout song that’s as raucous as it is anthemic. She followed it with a run of singles that showcased her remarkable versatility, including the skeletal “Blessed,” the taunting “Nut Quick,” and “Tomorrow 2,” her acclaimed collaboration with Cardi B. All four of those songs would be included alongside “No More Love” on Anyways, Life’s Great…, an EP that probes even deeper into the rapper’s story.
Despite being 23, Glo brings to the table a lifetime’s worth of experience. Raised in a religious family in North Memphis—where she sang in the church choir but was forbidden from listening to rap—Glo developed a unique musical perspective. Before being earmarked as a future superstar by local legend Yo Gotti, who signed her to his CMG imprint, Glo learned how to translate her irrepressible personality and unmistakable drawl into one of the most irresistible on-record personas to emerge in recent memory.
Most recently, GloRilla was announced to perform during the Hip Hop 50 tribute at the 65th Grammy Awards airing live this Sunday, February 5th. Fans can also catch her hitting the Coachella stage this April for the first time ever.
