OH WONDER PREMIERE NEW TRACK, “BETTER NOW” AVAILABLE NOW
THIRD ALBUM NEWS COMING SOON (INCLUDING NEW SINGLE, “HALLELUJAH”)
25 OCTOBER 2019 (TORONTO, ON) - Oh Wonder have today premiered brand new track “Better Now”, which is available now on Island Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company. The unique duo recently returned with acclaimed single “Hallelujah”, which has already surpassed over 5 million streams within a month, been made Tune of the Week on Radio 1, and the band launched via an intimate show at London’s Colours (which sold out in 10 seconds and had over 5000 people register for tickets).

From the ecstasy of “Hallelujah” to the agony of “Better Now”, Oh Wonder are a band able to capture those extreme highs and lows of daily life in intimate, emotional but uniformly positive fashion. “We wrote “Better Now” after hearing the sad news of a family member going through an incredibly tough and emotional birth of their first child. The song reflects on what it must feel like to be in a waiting room, on the other side of the wall to your loved one - helplessly trying to navigate the unknown, but fiercely hopeful. We hope this song is a comfort blanket to anyone that needs it.”
Currently finishing off their third album – more of which soon – Oh Wonder are without doubt one of the UK’s best-kept secrets. What started with the relatively modest ambition of uploading a track month for a year on Soundcloud quickly transformed the lives of Josephine and Anthony. Five years, 2 billion streams and more than a million record sales globally down the line – as well as a top 10 album back home, and sold-out shows including Brixton Academy and 300,000 global headline tickets - have led to where Oh Wonder find themselves in 2019: a truly modern-day success story, and one which, like the best of things, appears to have largely been a happy accident. The same, too, could be said of the friendship between Josephine and Anthony, whose magnetic intimacy on and off-stage has evolved (as many fans speculated) into romantic relationship, with all the peaks and troughs that come from living, working and doing just about everything else with your partner.
If there has always been more to Oh Wonder than met the eye, tracks like “Better Now” and “Hallelujah” nonetheless suggest a newfound energy. For Josephine and Anthony (who still write, record and produce all their music themselves in their self-built home studio) their new music also represents that confidence to open up: no longer DIY pop-stars-in-hiding, but a duo whose musical and emotional alchemy is a timely testament to our purest need to connect.
