ren RELEASES “i drive me mad”, NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO OUT NOW
DEBUT EP teenage angst OUT MARCH 13
ANNOUNCES EP RELEASE SHOWS IN NYC, LA AND TORONTO ON MARCH 24
27 FEBRUARY 2020 (TORONTO, ON) – Today, 17-year-old singer-songwriter sensation ren releases her latest single and video for “i drive me mad” – off her upcoming debut EP teenage angst due March 13 via Interscope Records/Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company. The frenetic power-pop anthem and accompanying video addresses the suffocating chokehold of anxiety.
Of writing the song ren states, “I drive me mad is a really important song to me because it’s really a look inside my brain and the anxiety and panic I deal with nearly everyday. I wrote this song after having a really bad panic attack and it made it so honest and easy to write. It’s the first song I’m putting out that I feel like has a really important relatable message and I’m super excited about this one!”
The track follows her previous releases off the genre-spanning EP – the grungey, guitar-driven “idc,” and “new way” which showcases her captivating and distinctive vocals. Additionally, in celebration of her forthcoming EP, ren recently announced her first live shows in the U.S. following it’s release: New York City on March 16 & Los Angeles on March 20. ren will then play an EP release show in her hometown of Toronto at the Rivoli on March 24.
