08 March 2019 (Toronto, ON) - In the last two years we have witnessed an incredible new talent in Sigrid. From the tiny town of Ålesund in Norway, but with a colossal mind, attitude and voice, Sigrid’s defiant pop was catapulted into the public consciousness with the zeitgeist defining “Don’t Kill My Vibe”; the top 10 single “Strangers”, critically lauded RAW EP and new single A-List single “Don’t Feel Like Crying”. Today, Sigrid releases her debut album Sucker Punch to critical acclaim, already praise across the board as an authentic, pure pop triumph (LOBF) and an antidote to pop artifice (Mail).

 

A collection of thrilling contemporary pop released via Island Records/Universal Music Canada, the country’s leading music company, Sigrid says of her debut album: “There are ballads, there are songs about friendship, there are songs about having a crush, there are songs about business. The theme is that there is no theme. The pop genre is so broad that I feel I have so much freedom and space to make whatever I want to make.”
