“I wore my heart on my sleeve with this project. It’s been important for me to show myself and others that it is okay to be both vulnerable and aggressive at the same time. It means we’re human beings,” says FLETCHER. “Everyone remembers their first love, for better or for worse. I just decided to write about mine…in a very TMI kind of way.”
On September 3rd, FLETCHER will embark on her first headline tour – a sold-out run that will take her across North America and Europe. Dates include a hometown show at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park (September 5) plus concerts at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg (September 7) and the El Rey in Los Angeles (September 25). FLETCHER previously supported LANY on tour this summer. She will also perform at the iHeart Radio Music Festival on September 21. See below for full itinerary.
In this recent feature, Interview observed, “(FLETCHER) set out to write, and sing, her own narrative–one that is inclusive, relatable, and non-conformist.” Billboard and GQ named “Undrunk” as one of the best songs of 2019 to date. The single bowed as the #1 Most Added Song at Top 40 – the most impressive debut in five years for a new artist at pop radio. “Undrunk” entered the Top 15 of Billboard’s Pop Songs Chart and spent six weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. FLETCHER made her television debut earlier this year, performing “Undrunk” on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
FLETCHER – who has been heralded as an Artist to Watch by Wonderland while simultaneously earning admiration from PAPER, TIME, Entertainment Weekly and countless others – hails from a beach town in New Jersey, where she cultivated her verve for music and candid lexicon. Fast-forward years later, her surname has taken on a form of its own. You may recognize FLETCHER from Spotify, where her songs have been streamed over 100 million times. Or maybe you’ve seen her on stage – at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Life is Beautiful, or one of the many festivals she already has under her belt. The singer-songwriter has already begun carving out a space for herself in pop music, and it’s clear that she has much more to say.
