ZOE WEES RELEASES NEW SINGLE, “GIRLS LIKE US”
12 JANUARY 2021 (TORONTO, ON) - Today, breakout star Zoe Wees unleashes the empowering follow-up to her monster debut. “Girls Like Us” is the second single from an artist you should already have on your radar going into 2021. The 18-year-old German singer/songwriter has had a whirlwind year after her first single “Control” went viral worldwide, thanks to her powerful voice and its equally powerful message. “Girls Like Us” will be released via Capitol Records/Universal Music Canada, the country's leading music company.

Talking about the origins of her much-anticipated new track, Zoe explains “for me it was the hardest feeling to grow up in a world that you feel doesn’t accept you. We all have insecurities, but this is what makes us beautiful.” Speaking about the video - also out today - Zoe adds that “it’s not always good to think about how you look to the rest of the world. It’s much more important to think about how you feel inside. It is not easy to call yourself beautiful but being confident helps you to accept and love yourself.”
Zoe’s lyrics send a message of togetherness and solidarity to girls around the world who are feeling the pressures of society. It’s a middle finger to the impossible beauty standards which are still being peddled by brands, influencers and algorithms.

Her first single “Control” written at the beginning of her career in her first ever writing session has catapulted her status to one of the most exciting new talents around.
